Ends rotted out after two seasons

Super comfortable, big cotton hammock. Unfortunately, the supposedly resilient nylon ends that hold the hammock in place began to “sun rot” this year. And they aren’t rubbing at the joints, they’re actually just popping apart halfway up the cord. Unfortunate, because I really like this hammock. Does anyone know how to fix this? Maybe I should replace the nylon with cotton? Design flaw for sure, and a pricey flaw.
