Hangout Chair Hammock Care
Our Hangout Chair is a hand woven, pre-dyed nylon, custom hammock chair. Perfect for hanging from a single point above when you don't have two trees or a lot of space. Perfect for indoors and small patios and easy to travel with and hang from trees.
Each hammock is hand woven and unique and takes over a week to create. We have quality controlled 100% of our hammocks to check for any defaults so there is no warranty on a damage incured while using it improperly or not following the care instructions.
HERE ARE SOME TIPS TO HELP YOU DO THAT:
1. HANDLE BY THE LOOPS
This keeps the strings tangle free and makes it easier to handle. WATCH THIS VIDEO to see how to handle and store the net of the hammock.
2. TIE THE STRINGS IN A KNOT BEFORE HAND WASHING OR TRAVELING
This keeps your hammock from tangling up on you. WATCH THIS VIDEO for instructions.
3. STORE IT BY HANGING BY THE LOOPS ON A HOOK OR TIED IN A BAG
This keeps your hammock from snagging on anything sharp. WATCH THIS VIDEO for instructions.
4. HAND WASH ONLY IN COLD WATER. DO NOT MACHINE WASH!
We use pre-dyed yarns so they don't absorb water and dirt like cotton do which make them easier to wash. Do this in a bathtub after tying the arms in a knot to avoid tangling or hang it from your shower curtains for an easier way to wash.
5. HANG TO DRY FULLY SPREAD OUT. DO NOT MACHINE DRY.
Our nylon hammocks are weather-resistant so can get wet but still need to dry out. Spread it out with the help of a long stick and in full sun to make sure it dries. This will give it a longer life.
6. AVOID WEARING CLOTHING THAT COULD SNAG THE HAND WEAVE.
Buttons, zippers and velcro are the sworn enemies of hammocks. Do not wear clothes or items with these on them while using the hammock, this can cause snags which can be fixed when caught early enough.
7. DO NOT LEAVE OUT UNATTENDED
This will cause your hammock to live a shorter lifespan. Animals can get into your hammock and pull/ruin the strings. Strong winds can blow your hammock and they may catch snags on trees or other objects.
8. LONG PERIODS OF DIRECT SUNLIGHT WILL BREAK DOWN ALL FABRICS.
For a longer lasting hammock, take it inside and store it when not in use. UV will break everything down eventually, bring your hammock indoors as often as possible to avoid sun damage. Leaving your hammock outside all the time will shorten it's lifespan.
9. DO NOT USE IF SNAGGED.
This is a hand made product that took over a week to make. If a snag has happened, stop using it immediately and fix the snag if possible. Refer to THIS VIDEO for more information.
10. DO NOT USE AS AN EXERCISE BAR
The spreader bar used to hang the hammock is not an exercise bar. Do not use it to full yourself up or hang from it. It should only be used to properly hang the hammock.
11. THIS IS NOT A TOY
This is a hand made item meant for relaxing. Do not use this as a swing and hang no more than 18" above the ground. Check for wear and damage before every use. You are responsible for the safe use of your hammock.
